MARANA, Ariz. – Second round action has concluded and semifinal matches are set at the Callaway Collegiate Match Play Championship at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Club, Dove Mountain in Marana, Ariz. The first semifinal will feature Southern California against Colorado State. The Trojans downed Stanford, 3-2, in its semifinal match. T.J. Vogel, Steve Lim and Martin Trainer claimed victories for USC. Colorado State defeated Iowa, 3-2. Bryce Hanstad, Dustin Morris and Zahkai Brown won for the Rams. Texas A&M is the highest seeded team to advance to the semifinals after beating UNLV, 4-1. The Aggies won the first four matches. Andrea Pavan, Jordan Russell, Ignacio Elvira and Conrad Shindler all earned team points for UNLV. New Mexico - the 15th seed - punched the final ticket to the semifinals after pulling its second upset of the tournament, 3-2, over San Diego. San Diego staked an early lead, but James Erkenbeck and Travis Ross both claimed 1-up victories to close the match. Nick Geyer also won for the Lobos. Third-round matches are currently under way.
